This utterly unique hostel is quite literally attached to the world famous White Cliffs of Dover... it is our back garden. Enjoy a coffee with the 200ft chalk face right there to touch and examine and explore. Leave the front door and you are already half way on the White Cliffs Walk which takes you right to the National Trust centre complete with pamphlets, guides, and a restaurant with stunning views right over the English channel to the coast of France. The Car Ferry is so close you can nearly roll out of bed onto the boat, well not quite but I ran to the foot passenger check-in in 30 seconds, even with a heavy bag you can walk it in a minute. We are one street back from the ocean, so remarkably free of noise from the lorries and bustle of Britain's busiest port. we are also a 10 minute walk to the centre of town, supermarkets, shops, cinema and museum. Dover Castle - which was started by the Roman Emperor Julius Caesar in 55BC and home to Britain's oldest building the 2000 year-old Pharos is Western Europe's largest castle having been built up and developed by Henry 2 in 1179 and Henry 8, who stayed with one of his six wives before deciding if he should chop her head off also - is just 450m away. We are lucky to be on the main entrance side, so it is very close to stroll over for a visit. White Cliffs Holiday Hostel offer a variety of room to suit everyone's needs. Tired people from Europe can rest assured of a sure rest, with friendly staff and advice. Get off the boat and spend your first night in England in a nice warm backpackers & we can provide a breakfast also.
