Portuguese Villa with Garden and Pool. Longer stays preferred (in which case the rate is negotiable) Ideal for artists, writers, yogis, meditators, or anyone looking for space and quiet. This is a large house which can welcome 6 people (2 per room). Villa Fernandes is a Portuguese villa located in a small village in South Goa, India. It’s not as remote as it might seem; we are on the edge of a small market town called Cuncolim, and within short (and picturesque) driving distances to beaches, cliffs, nature reserves, tropical forests and hills. The more ‘happening’ and cosmopolitan parts of Goa are not that far either... Nonetheless, life here is on the slow side. Punctuated by early morning birdsong, the trumpet call of the bicycle bread-man, and village sounds. There is sunshine for most of the year, and there is almost always a soft fragrant breeze. From June to September, the monsoon comes and the land turns into a shimmering green; mornings are misty, and at times, you might even need to wear a shawl and warm up: it’s a cosy and introspective time. I’d like to open up Villa Fernandes to anyone or any group of people who are looking for some time out in a space where they can be as creative, introspective, artistic and disconnected as they like... music and dance and theatre; book writing, clothes designing, film making...you name it! Of course, those of you who simply want some quiet time out, and are not afraid of village life, are most welcome too! The house is spacious; high ceilings offer a beautiful acoustic; there is plenty of dancing/theatre/yoga/relaxing space; a garden and a comfortable swimming pool. Wireless internet (this is Goa, occasionally it crashes :) ) Attached Bathroom Piano & Guitar Indoor Badminton Court Washing Machine Some of the times, i may be staying in the house as well. My wish is to welcome people with whom we can share a relaxed and friendly time. If i am around, I will be happy to share yoga/meditation sessions, and i am open for skills exchanges. I am very happy for guests to have their own space, quiet and privacy. My wish is for this house to welcome people who will enjoy it and enjoy their time here... Cuncolim is a quiet market town. The market is wonderful! However, other than pleasant walks in the neighbouring villages and fields, there is not much happening in Cuncolim. It is within short driving distance of Assolna, Cavelossim/Mobor/Benaulim and nearby sightseeing spots. Panjim and North Goa are about 2hours away. The wonderful beaches of Agonda & Palolem about 1hour away. There are also other beautiful areas to explore around here... Cuncolim bus station offers regular links to Palolem beach and Margaon. It is best, however to rent a scooter. I can also put you in touch with a reliable taxi driver and auto-rickshaw driver for day trips and errands. The airport is a 45 minutes taxi drive away.
