Kankarwa Haveli is simple and beautiful. Perched right at the edge of Lake Pichola, and surrounded by other havelis, this one is built in the traditional style with a central courtyard and the rooms around it, topped with turrets, arches and jharokhas. As you enter through the thick and sturdy doors, you notice that the lobby is simply with cane chairs and books on shelves. Painted a butter cup yellow, the haveli is clean and well maintained, offering home cooked food and hosts that treat you like a personal guest, making it more like a homestay than a hotel. Kankarwa Haveli is ideal of you are looking for not over the top Rajasthan, tailor made for tourists, but the gentle charm of the beautiful state.
