The cabin is accessible from the village by car in about 10 minutes and on foot in about 45 minutes. The mountain station and the Koppeneck restaurant as well as the Ochsenhütte are accessible on foot in about one hour. Underneath the gondola lift there is a 2.8 km long summer toboggan run which takes you down into the valley at speeds of around 40 km per hour. There is a very wide range of hiking trails to choose from. Europe's highest situated monastery, the Kloster Maria Waldrast is also just about one and a half hours away by car. A lovely walk on the peak of the 2800m high Serles (also known as the Altar of the Tyrol) at sunrise is an experience which is not to be missed. This is about 4 - 5 hours' walk from the chalet. There is a camping place above the Alpine chalet which includes a fire place for a camp fire, hayrick, fountain and a rustic wooden WC.Local amenities include: A doctor, food market, bakery, butcher and petrol filling station. The regional capital Innsbruck is about 20 minutes away by car.
