Please make sure to read the full description before booking with us, as it contains some very useful information. At Falling Lakes we are adventure and nature enthusiasts, who are keen to show you what Plitvice Lakes National Park and its surrounding mountains have to offer. We are your guide, if you are looking for the total local experience. Our property lies nestled in a valley between Mrsinj and Pljesevica Mountain and is at the heart of all mountaineering, hiking, and biking trails. You can partake in many other outdoor activities while staying with, such as: the pljesevica mountain military base trek, mrsinj trek or kayaking (find us online for more info). With sustainability in mind we designed our hostel to have solar thermal water heating, LED lighting and composting of all organic waste. Our hostel has comfy dorms with custom made bunk beds that have built-in lockers, a personal plug and a reading light. In our common room area you can hang out, read, play board games or enjoy a locally brewed beer. Some of our other services include: free wifi, free linen, towels and locks for rent, shared fully-equipped kitchen, luggage storage, outdoor patio, BBQ, and lots of free activities and events. Here are answers to some of the most common questions we get asked by our guests. How to get to us: We are on the south border of the national park in a town called Korenica, and are a 15 min drive from entrance 2 of the falls. Korenica is the nearest town from the lakes and is the only place in the area that has full services and amenities, such as: three supermarkets, a post office, restaurants, cafes, bars, ATM, hospital, etc. all within 5 min walking distance from the hostel. You can book your bus tickets to and from Korenica on the following website:www.getbybus.com Getting to the park: We offer a daily shuttle service from the hostel to the park and back (for more info on the shuttle service ask the reception upon check-in). By pooling people together we are able to offer cheap transport to the lakes and back (return ticket 35 kuna per person, 4.50 euros). It’s also cheaper than taking the bus. For the bus schedule from Korenica to Plitvice see www.getbybus.com Keep in mind that the location of the falls and lakes within the park is remote with miles of surrounding wilderness. So when you book your bus to get to us, make sure that you book to Korenica and not Plitvice entrance 1 or entrance 2, since you will be at the gate of the park and therefore in the middle of nowhere. Once you arrive in Korenica getting to us is pretty simple (check out the directions & how to get to us section). How long do I need to see the park: to see the basics i.e. the falls of the park you need a full day, approximately eight hours. However, the park has many beautiful hiking and mountaineering trails. To take advantage of the region fully and to hike the main trails you need about four days. Please keep in mind that check-ins are until (22:00). PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ARRIVE BEFORE THE RECEPTION CLOSES!
