Previously a studio and living space for Artists, Air Osaka Hostel has now opened its doors to welcome backpackers and travelers to Osaka from around the world. With a mixture of old works left behind and new works being erected, the hostel is scattered with interesting and odd creations. Air Osaka Hostel is a place where people can congregate, collaborate, perform, learn, share stories and ideas, have fun and enjoy a relaxed yet inspiring atmosphere. Both in Air Osaka and in the surrounding neighborhood of Kitakagaya, you'll often find a mix of exhibitions and small music performances for both local and traveling artists and musicians. If you are in the area or planning on visiting Osaka, don’t hesitate to contact us or come pay us a visit! **BED UPDATE** We've responded to some concerns about the bed comfort and recently invested in thicker and more comfortable mattresses for all the bunk beds! Guests say the new beds are “MECHA SUGOI!!!” (it means “truly amazing” in Osaka dialect.) **SHOWER UPDATE** We've responded to some concerns about the shower rooms and recently set up 3 new shower cubicles!^^ Creative Experience: Our neighborhood is one of the up and coming arts districts in Osaka, and Air Osaka often finds itself at the center of the scene with visiting artists and musicians staying here almost contantly. In the hostel and the surrounding neighborhood you'll often find small music performances, plays, art shows, local festivals, and a pretty nice community garden too. Local Experience: Although we're only 10 mintues by subway to Namba and close to the hot tourist spots, Air Osaka is set in the middle of an authenitc Japanese neighborhood called Kitakagaya. Here, you can eat at a tiny cafe with the locals, share a beer at a music pub with the neighborhood blues guitarist, or have coffee and lesson in carving wood at the woodwork shop. At Air Osaka, you get to experience Japan like the locals do! Cat Experience: Yes. We have a cat named Wolf who normally hangs out in the bottom floor lounge area. She is basically the Manager of this place and so could also find her standing in front of the door to greet you, or chasing butterflies in the garden.
